“It’s time to save Bilgewater, Captain.” In all fairness, with a name like Bilgewater we feel like the city is predestined to suffer – but in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a spin-off from the hugely popular MMORPG League of Legends, that’s your job.
Announced today as a surprise release on Switch, Ruined King is a single-player turn-based RPG originally slated for early 2021.
The game will immerse players in the history of LoL and allow them to explore Runeterra through Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles. With the addition of the Lane Initiative combat system, players can strategically plan their approach to combat and configure their group and skills to suit any fight.
With the surprise launch also comes a new video showing part of the process that was needed to create the game:
There are also some launch goodies and DLC packs. Purchase the game from the eShop before December 16 for an exclusive weapon for Yasuo, Manamune. There are also three DLC packs – the Ruined Skin variants for $ 4.99, the Lost & Found weapons pack for $ 4.99, and the Ruination Starter Pack for $ 2.99, which is a range of potions, a 10% bonus gold accessory, and a trinket that grants includes 10% bonus XP.
The game is priced at $ 29.99 and requires 9.9 GB of storage to install.
