Supporting Partners in Transformation: IBM Australia’s Initiatives

IBM’s local CEO in Australia has stated that the company’s partners in the country are benefitting from significant investments in cloud services and artificial intelligence. The company has been shifting its focus towards cloud services and AI, with major announcements made at their annual THINK conference. IBM has also adjusted its marketing strategy in Australia by naming NEXTGEN as a distributor.

IBM’s managing director in Australia and New Zealand, Nicholas Flood, highlighted the support that local partners receive from the company’s technical teams to transform their businesses. IBM has invested in customer engineering and customer success management teams to demonstrate the practical benefits of their technology portfolio to partners and customers. In 2024, the customer success management team expanded its mandate to support ecosystem partners in post-sales, ensuring support for both customers and partners during the modernization process.

Flood noted that AI is increasingly being used as a tool for application modernization, providing greater flexibility and choice for customers. Partners have embraced the optionality of AI tools, enabling them to provide more value to end users by offering a range of capabilities. This approach gives partners the opportunity to offer customers a stronger message by providing multiple pathways for modernization.

IBM’s global MSP partners can also benefit from the company’s Partner Plus program, which offers support and resources for partners across the globe. IBM’s focus on cloud services and AI, combined with its investments in supporting partners, demonstrates the company’s commitment to helping its partners thrive in the evolving technology landscape.
