Might have during the grand opening of Super Nintendo World was delayedIt appears that a limited number of people have been able to drive the new attractions at Universal Studios Japan and in general Experience everything the park has to offer before the opening. As such, there are now plenty of photos and videos revolving around the various trivia. And as it turns out, it appears that at least one of the props in Super Nintendo World was built with a fan mod from New Super Mario Bros. Wii for reference. Oops.
In particular, there seem to be cactus models in Super Nintendo World based on designs specially developed for them Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, a fan-made mod for the 2009 video game. As Twitter user Meatball132 noted, these cacti are quite different in shape when compared to official stuff. Hence, it’s hard to imagine someone else putting the video game name into google and bringing out an unofficial reference work of art, then building the physical base on versions. It remains to be seen what kind of reaction, if any, Nintendo or Universal Studios Japan will have to this reveal.
Wow. In fact, I think the designers at Super Nintendo World used art from Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii (an NSMBW mod) as a reference for their cacti. They have a somewhat distinctive shape, were specially developed for newer users and are displayed on Google “New Super Mario Bros. Wii Cactus”. pic.twitter.com/CWrHiXCsj3
