Student from Las Vegas named winner of Google contest in Nevada

A student from the Las Vegas Valley has been announced as the Nevada winner of a Google doodle contest, which was held to celebrate Google’s 25th anniversary. The contest called for K-12 students to submit doodles based on the theme “My wish for the next 25 years…”. Ruby Wang, a student at Bonner Elementary School in Las Vegas, was chosen as one of the 55 states and territories winners. Her doodle, titled “Swimming and Flying Houses”, envisions a future where rising sea levels have led to people living in fish-shaped houses under the sea or bird-shaped houses in the air, allowing for easy travel.

Google has displayed a full gallery of all the state and territory winners on their website doodle4google.com, where fans can vote for their favorites until June 4th. Five of the works will be selected as national finalists, with one being named the national winner.
