YouTube is expanding its Steady Volume feature to more platforms, including Android TV and Google TV devices running YouTube v4.40.303. The feature, which balances audio levels in videos, was first implemented almost a year ago, but was not widely available. Now, it is enabled by default in the YouTube app for Android TV and Google TV. Users can find the Steady Volume option in Settings while watching a video. However, the feature may not be available for all videos on the platform and does not work for YouTube Music. It can be disabled if it does not provide the desired output or if audio levels are intentionally different in a video.
YouTube has been making improvements to its TV apps, including a redesigned video player that places comments and UI elements next to the video stream. The company is also working on adding a notes function for videos, channel QR codes, and a new desktop design. YouTube is also taking steps to make it more difficult for ad blockers to block ads.
