📉 Futures start the week cautiously

  • S&P 500 futures hovered near flat Monday, while Dow futures edged slightly higher and Nasdaq futures slipped about 0.1%.
  • Traders aren’t exactly running for shelter, but they’re keeping their shoes on with several market-moving catalysts approaching.
  • Wall Street rebounded Friday: the S&P 500 gained 0.4% to 7,674.37, the Nasdaq added 0.4% and the Dow jumped 518 points, or 1%. Still, all three fell for the week, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq suffering the largest decline at 2.1%.
  • Asia offered little encouragement. South Korea’s Kospi dropped 1.9%, Chinese blue chips lost 0.8% and the broader Asia-Pacific index slipped 0.9%. Japan’s Nikkei was roughly flat after tumbling almost 4% last week.

🧠 Nvidia up against huge expectations

  • Nvidia reports Wednesday after the closing bell, with quarterly revenue expected near $92 billion — almost double last year’s level. Traders will focus on data-center demand, Blackwell availability and guidance.
  • Salesforce, CrowdStrike, Okta, Workday and Marvell also report this week, widening the test beyond chips. Their results should show whether corporate AI and cybersecurity spending remains durable.
