Sony has launched the WH-1000XM5 Bluetooth compatible wireless headphones. It will be released on May 27th and its estimated market price, including taxes, is $379.

In addition to the “High-Quality Noise Canceling Processor QN1” of the standard model, a new “Integrated Processor V1” is installed. In addition, the combination of “Multi-Noise Sensor Technology” that efficiently captures noise with four sensors on the outside and four sensors inside the headphone achieves the industry’s best noise-cancelling performance.

The driver unit is a specially designed 30mm neodymium driver using high quality solder and resistors matched with Walkman proprietary technology for headphones. Consequently, the reproduction and propagation of fine sounds and the perception of localization should be improved. The primary specifications include a sensitivity of 102 dB/mW (cable on) and 100 dB/mW (cable off), a playback frequency band of 4-40,000 Hz, and an impedance of 48 (cable on). Bluetooth standard is 5.2, profile is A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP and codec is SBC, AAC and LDAC.

The primary case colors are black and platinum silver. Maximum battery life is 30 hours (when NC is on) / 40 hours (when NC is off). The body weighs about 250 grams.
