SonicWall has issued an “Urgent Security Advisor” warning customers of ransomware attacks targeting unpatched targets end of life (EoL) Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 100 series and Secure Remote Access (SRA) products.

“Working with trusted third-party vendors, SonicWall became aware of threat actors actively targeting the Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 100 series and Secure Remote Access (SRA) products with unpatched and end-of-life (EOL) 8. x firmware in upcoming ransomware campaign with stolen credentials“Said the company.

According to SonicWall, the attacks target a known vulnerability that has been patched in newer firmware versions and will not affect SMA 1000 series products.

“Companies that do not take appropriate action to mitigate these vulnerabilities on their SRA and SMA 100 series products are if there is an imminent threat of a targeted ransomware attack, “SonicWall warns.
