ST. LOUIS – A software bug earlier this week confused private video feeds from Eufy cameras. It created some anxious moments for customers who learned they could see someone else’s camera when they signed up.

Eufy tweeted that the error occurred during a server upgrade. The company said the engineering team recognized this problem and fixed it in about two hours.

The company said the bug affected a total of 712 users in multiple countries, including the US.

According to Eufy, customers should disconnect and reconnect the device and log out of the security app.

The company also said to prevent this from happening in the future, it is updating the network architecture and strengthening its bidirectional authentication mechanism. The servers are also updated to improve processing capacity and eliminate potential risks.
