Spotify, Discord, and Snapchat went down Tuesday afternoon following a Google Cloud outage, leaving many users unable to access these apps.
All of these services use Google Cloud as their cloud computing provider, meaning your device will access a Google server every time you use one of these apps.
Customers may encounter 404 errors when accessing web pages due to a problem with cloud networks, Google says.
Spotify posted on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon: “We are currently aware of some issues and are looking into them! We’ll keep you up to date.”
Snapchat posted on its support Twitter: “A lot of Snapchatters are having issues with the app. Hold on, we’re working on a fix. In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in.”
According to data from Downdetector, a real-time problem and failure monitoring website, hundreds of thousands of users have reported problems on these platforms.
Reports peaked around 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday and declined around 2 p.m.
