The British television personality Simon Cowell is selling off two very special cars from his collection: a highly modified Ford Bronco and a gorgeous Bentley Azure MkII.
With the new Bronco so close to release later this year, Simon’s own car is going to be getting a lot of attention when both cars are auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction later this month. This ’77 model is lifted on James Duff springs and sports BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A tyres, but the most interesting part sits under the bonnet.
A 340hp Ford Racing 302-cubic-inch V8 crate engine sits in the American car boasting a host of modifications. These include a Holley Avenger four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, electric distributor, and ceramic headers. To enhance the sound of this tuned motor, a 2.5-inch MagnaFlow exhaust system carries the sound to the rear of the car. Power is sent through a Ford C4 automatic transmission, so no manual here.
Black XD series wheels sit around Wilwood all-wheel disc brakes to enable the monster to come to a stop, and the black carries on inside with a full custom interior. The seats are black leather, and the floors are protected in Line-X. Plus, a leather-wrapped roll bar is fitted along with a Pioneer head unit and a custom sound system. That is not a surprise.
Alongside this, the 450hp convertible Azure will be a gorgeous addition to any car collection with only 700-odd being built by the British company. With the roof down, there are few better ways to sit in LA traffic.
Barrett Jackson’s Scottsdale, Arizona, auction runs from January 11 to19 at WestWorld. Which one would you take home?
