Sea Ltd.—the e-commerce and online gaming company controlled by billionaire Forrest Li—is partnering with Google to develop AI applications for the Singapore-based owner of Shopee.
Under the expanded partnership, Google will develop AI shopping agents for Shopee, giving the e-commerce platform an edge to compete with rivals such as TikTok and Alibaba’s Lazada across Southeast Asia. Sea has a long history of collaboration with Google, which has been hosting online games of unit Garena’s Free Fire on Google Play.
