EUROSATORY NEWS: Several security applications developed for Swarm Tech
Paris — A company better known for using drones to create colorful aerial light displays at amusement parks wants to apply its swarm technology to defense and security applications.
Icarus Swarms, a company based in Bordeaux, France, demonstrated its technology to the press on June 12 ahead of the opening of the Eurosatory conference in Paris. The scenario involved two “bad guys” carrying automatic rifles on a training course. The small swarm of four Class 1 quadcopters – Class 1 being the smallest drone size – formed a perimeter and began searching for suspicious individuals.
