OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Oklahomans can now have proof of their identity on their phone.
Beginning on Wednesday, Service Oklahoma announced that Android users can add their Oklahoma driver’s license or state ID to their Google Wallet.
“Digital ID becomes more valuable when more Oklahomans can access it and more places are equipped to accept it,” said Diedra O’Neil, Chief Executive of Strategy and Operations. “Expanding to Google Wallet gives more Oklahomans the choice to securely carry and present their identity in a way that works for them.”
Officials say Oklahomans can present their driver’s license and state ID in Google Wallets at participating TSA checkpoints at Will Rogers International Airport and more than 250 other airports nationwide.
They can also present their digital ID to participating businesses and organizations who are equipped to securely verify it.
Officials stress that Oklahomans should continue to carry their physical driver’s license or state ID card….
