Seagate has launched two new high-density storage systems aimed at enterprises facing significant data growth: the Exos 4U100 and Exos 4U74 JBOD platforms.

These systems are designed to meet the increasing demands of generative AI, the proliferation of distributed storage architectures, and stricter data sovereignty laws.

Amounts of data

Companies are experiencing a rapid increase in data volume and complexity, largely due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence. Research shows that 78% of companies are now producing new types of content, leading to increasing storage needs. Both platforms are based on SAS 4 JBOD technology, with the highest density 4U100 system offering up to 3.2 petabytes of capacity in a single chassis.

“The critical question is no longer whether data volumes will increase, but rather how companies can leverage this scale to deliver measurable value,” said Adam Wright, research manager at IDC.
