Attendees can preview the new and improved user interface and provide feedback before it is officially released
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of its One UI 4 beta program for Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones (Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra). One UI 4 is based on the Android 12 (OS) operating system and introduces new and improved customization and privacy features that give users control over many aspects of their mobile experience.
“One UI 4 helps users create their own streamlined mobile experience because Samsung recognizes that everyone wants to meet their individual needs and preferences.” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics Mobile Communications Business. “As with every iteration of our One UI, we’ve listened to our users to understand the tools and innovations required for a better, more reliable, and enhanced overall user experience.”
One UI 4 beta launch
The One UI 4 Beta program allows users to try out the updated features of One UI 4 before its official release. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series in selected markets can register for the beta program via the Samsung Members App on their devices. Attendees can preview and provide feedback on the One UI 4 design and new features. Samsung will use the information from the beta program to refine the One UI 4 user experience before delivering a final, streamlined upgrade later this year.
Wonderful experiences designed by you
Samsung’s One UI user interface brings a unified mobile experience to Galaxy smartphones through simplified and streamlined interactions and a clean and elegant design.
One UI 4 Beta attendees can experience extensive customization features and privacy controls that enable them to design their ideal mobile experience – one that is uniquely tailored to their individual needs and allows them to express who they are.
The look you want
With One UI 4, you get customization options at every turn. A plethora of theme options allow you to customize the look and functionality of your device, and provide you with tools for configuring your home screen, icons, notifications, wallpapers, and more. In addition, newly designed, updated widgets offer extensive customization – from visibility to appearance. You also get convenient access to a more robust and diverse selection of emojis in one place, so you can effortlessly navigate your options for a richer communication experience.
Strengthening of data protection options, comprehensive protection
The new One UI 4 also offers advanced privacy and protection features that make it easier for users to understand exactly how their data is being used, to customize their settings and deliver a more personalized mobile experience. Indicators alert users to the use of app cameras and microphones so they can immediately disable permissions if they don’t want to grant access. One UI 4 also expands Android 12’s permissions options, so users can view their permission history for the last seven days, not just the last 24 hours. You can also check the current data usage of your permissions and your apps.
