Samsung has expanded its Galaxy AI by adding support for Perplexity alongside existing assistants like Bixby and Google’s Gemini. As announced by the company, Samsung users will be able to interact with Perplexity on its upcoming Galaxy S26 smartphones by saying “hey, Plex.” Samsung said the move is part of its plan to build a “multi-agent ecosystem,” where users can choose different AI tools for different tasks based on their strengths.Unlike a basic app integration, Samsung said that Perplexity will be deeply connected to the phone’s system. It will be able to access core Samsung apps such as Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminders and Calendar. Samsung also said the assistant will work with select third-party apps, though it did not name which ones. “This system-level approach offers Galaxy users a richer and more flexible AI experience across the device,” Samsung said in a press statement. Additional details about supported devices and experiences will be announced soon.Won-Joon Choi, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, said “We’ve been committed to building an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that gives users more choice, flexibility and control to get complex tasks done quickly and easily. Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural, cohesive experience.”
