Samsung’s upcoming big monitor reveal, the Odyssey Neo G8, is poised to open a new chapter in gaming monitor innovation, if Samsung has nothing to say about this.
The upcoming Odyssey Neo G8 is the first monitor with a curved 4K screen (3,640 x 2,160) 1000R with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of 1 ms (GtG). Enthusiasts must wait until CES 2022 because then the big unveiling of the Odyssey Neo G8 will take place.
The Odyssey Neo G8 also offers next-generation image quality with Quantum Mini LEDs, HDR 2000 support with 2000 cd / m² peak brightness and a static contrast ratio of one million to one. Put together in one neat package, all of these impressive features aim to bring out even the most subtle details in the game in a fully immersive viewing experience.
Keep in mind that a PC that can do justice to such a monitor is a whole different beast. We’re talking about a fully featured rig with one Top class GPU and CPU required to take full advantage of the Odyssey Neo G8. Don’t be surprised if it requires one Next-gen GPU that isn’t even out there yetbut this does not prevent the monitor from being used in games with lower resolutions when required.
The Odyssey Neo G8 will share many design features with its relative, the Odyssey Neo G9 (minus the insanely wide 49 ″ panel), including a sleek, white exterior, Quantum matrix technology, as well as ultra-fast refresh rates and response times.
As mentioned earlier, the Odyssey Neo 8’s grand reveal will take place during CES 2022 – unless that The ongoing global pandemic is thwarting the plans of other exhibitors.
