Application programming interface security startup Salt Security Inc. announced today that it has raised $ 70 million in new funds to expand its global research and development, sales and marketing, and customer success activities.
The Series C round was led by Advent International and included Alkeon Capital, DFJ Growth, Sequoia Capital, Tenaya Capital, S Capital VC, and Y Combinator.
Salt Security was founded in 2016 and offers an API protection platform that prevents attacks using machine learning and artificial intelligence. The company’s Salt Security API Protection Platform offers a unique approach to API security, providing an API analytics architecture that automates the continuous discovery of APIs and sensitive data exposed, stopping API attackers during their reconnaissance activities, and providing insight into the remediation.
Salt Security’s API protection platform does not require agents, software changes, or inline code.
