Salesforce and AWS represent the two most successful cloud companies in their respective categories. Over the past few years, the two cloud giants have had an evolving partnership. Today they announced plans for a new set of integration features to make it easier to share data and develop applications that span the two platforms.
Patrick Stokes, EVP and GM for Platform at Salesforce, notes that the companies have worked together in the past to provide features like secure sharing between the two services, but they heard from customers that they wanted to move it forward, and the Today’s announcement is the first step in that direction.
“[The initial phases of the partnership] were really very successful. We learn a lot from each other and from our mutual customers about the kinds of things they want to achieve, both within the Salesforce product portfolio and with all Amazon products.
