Despite massive investments in cybersecurity, SaaS security remains a major challenge for companies. One reason is the enormous growth in SaaS adoption. According to a recent study we conducted, companies use an average of 110 SaaS apps, which is an almost 7-fold increase in SaaS app usage since 2017 and an almost 14-fold increase since 2015. SaaS security automation could help solve current security problems.
But it’s not just SaaS growth that is overwhelming security. The use of shadow applications continues to plague most organizations. Almost three quarters of IT professionals worry about unapproved SaaS applications just to paint the picture.
