After banning six VPNs earlier this year, the Russian government has now announced that six more will be added to the list of unapproved services.
In the past, the official reason for VPN bans by Russian authorities was their ability to bypass laws and access illegal content, although that may not tell the full story.
Russia banned many VPNs over the past year, and all along the way VPNs are not necessarily illegal in Russia, but they must be approved by the state.
Which VPNs has Russia banned?
The latest line of VPNs that the Russian government has banned are:
- Cloudflare WARP
- Tachyon VPN
- Private tunnel
These providers join others who have been banned earlier in the yearincluding Hola! VPN, ExpressVPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, NordVPN, Speedify VPN and IPVanish VPN.
