Microsoft and Nvidia used a San Francisco Surface event on October 7, 2026 to stake out new territory in personal computing, pairing Nvidia’s RTX Spark hardware platform with a new Windows software layer built for autonomous AI agents. The companies are calling the resulting machines “Builder PCs,” a label PCMag reported the day after the event as shorthand for a Windows PC category purpose-built to run large language models, image generators and background AI agents locally rather than in the cloud. Satya Nadella, Jensen Huang and Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri shared the stage, according to The Verge’s coverage of the announcement.
