Rob McQueen has been appointed as Cisco Systems’ new vice president of global sponsorship. In his new role, McQueen will oversee a diverse portfolio of B2B sponsorships, including partnerships with McLaren F1, NFL League Rights, Premier League and MLS teams, the USGA, Riot Games, and the Paris Olympic Games. Cisco will serve as the official sponsor of the local organizing committee for the Paris Olympic Games, providing network equipment, cybersecurity infrastructure, and conference software. Additionally, Cisco has sponsorship agreements with Live Nation on the entertainment side.

McQueen brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the head of strategic sponsorships for Verizon, another NFL corporate sponsor that collaborates with Cisco on network installations. In his new position, McQueen will also oversee a roster of agencies handling partnerships with Allied Sports for the NFL and USGA, as well as Octagon for McLaren, Riot Games, and various soccer deals.

Based in New York, McQueen will report directly to Bryan Jones, who is responsible for global sponsorships and experiential engagement at Cisco. He takes over the role from Brian Eaton, who departed Cisco in the fall to join Populous as director of business development.

The appointment of Rob McQueen as vice president of global sponsorship underscores Cisco’s commitment to expanding its presence in the world of sports and entertainment sponsorships. With a strong background in strategic partnerships and a proven track record of success in the industry, McQueen is well-positioned to drive growth and strengthen Cisco’s relationships with key partners.

As the industry continues to evolve, Cisco remains dedicated to providing cutting-edge networking solutions and cybersecurity infrastructure to support major events and organizations worldwide. With McQueen at the helm of its global sponsorship efforts, Cisco is poised to capitalize on new opportunities and elevate its brand presence on a global scale.
