Ricoh Company has chosen Rimini Support and Rimini Protect to secure and optimize its existing Oracle EBS and Oracle Database environments as it looks towards the future of its ERP strategy. Currently utilizing multiple instances of Oracle products for its transactional processes, Ricoh is planning to transition away from these in the long term.

Seeking guidance on maintaining data security during its digital transformation, Ricoh selected Rimini Street as its partner. Keisuke Hamanaka, Deputy General Manager of Process, IT, and Data Management at Ricoh, highlighted the decision to work with Rimini Street due to its high-quality support tailored to the Japanese market at a cost that aligns with the company’s financial goals.

To address the need for business continuity and data protection during its upcoming ERP migration, Ricoh implemented Rimini Support, Rimini Street’s Advanced Application and Middleware Security (AAMS) for Oracle EBS, and Advanced Database Security (ADS) for Oracle databases. This multi-layered approach provided real-time protection from vulnerabilities and downtime, supported by experienced global engineers dedicated to keeping Ricoh’s Oracle systems running smoothly.

Hamanaka noted the cost savings achieved by diverting resources from a major EBS upgrade, amounting to several billion yen. In addition to the financial benefits, Ricoh now has assured security for the critical data stored within its Oracle databases supporting EBS.

Choosing Rimini Street as a partner has enabled Ricoh to focus on its ERP strategy while ensuring the safety and performance of its Oracle systems. The combination of Rimini Support and Rimini Protect has proven to be a valuable investment for Ricoh, offering peace of mind and reliable support during its digital transformation journey. With a strong foundation in place, Ricoh is well-positioned to navigate its transition away from multiple Oracle products towards its next-generation ERP strategy.
