Data centers and managed service providers have been providing their customers with state-of-the-art capabilities and services for years.

But the move from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings has made Hyperscaler the driver of the cloud computing market. They offer the managed services that are the building blocks for modern, cloud-native applications.

A better fit

While the hyperscale public cloud model is attractive to many customers, there are many existing and planned use cases and business models for which the traditional on-premises data centers and MSPs are better suited. The reasons are different – in some cases it is the need for absolute separation of the data. In other cases it has to do with governance and regulations. And sometimes customers need adjustments in terms of unique application architectures.
