Rethink cloud decisions in the age of AI

The global cloud industry shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, growing at around 15-19% annually and gaining additional momentum from the rapid increase in AI workloads.

Domestically, the picture is similar: Australian companies are using the cloud as a standard part of modern IT strategies across most industries. At the same time, however, local operational pressures are increasing as rising energy costs and talent shortages, among other things, cause CIOs to scrutinize the cost, performance, data sovereignty and long-term viability of their cloud decisions more closely than ever before.

The growth of AI adds even more complexity as new model training and inference workloads place significant pressure on computing power, performance and bandwidth, forcing companies to rethink how to deploy infrastructure cost-effectively. This raises some important questions about how companies should balance cost control and operational flexibility as they refine their cloud strategies.
