Researchers reveal cloud vulnerability of the auditing firm Moss Adams

Network security researchers announced on Tuesday that they had discovered a potentially harmful vulnerability in accounting and wealth management firm Moss Adams’ publicly available cloud computing platform.

In April, a security team from VPNOverview initially found what it believed to be an “improperly saved virtual machine image.” [belonging] to Moss Adams … stored in a publicly accessible Amazon Web Services S3 bucket, [and] did not require a password,” says a blog entry on the website of the Dutch company that researches and reviews security issues in virtual private networks worldwide. Moss Adams LLP is one of the largest and most reputable public accounting and wealth management firms in the country…
