This has led to a “cloud-smart” strategy in Australia, with 99% of respondents leveraging the best environment for each workload, compared to 90% globally.
Nutanix APJ general manager Aaron White highlighted the advanced state of Australian businesses in AI integration, emphasizing the importance of preparing infrastructure for AI readiness. Australian organizations have been active in shifting applications between environments to achieve cloud-native services integration, with 58% of respondents highlighting this as a key driver compared to 40% globally.
Sustainability is a top priority for Australian enterprises, with all respondents agreeing on its importance and 45% planning to increase investment in sustainability by 2024. Infrastructure modernisation and remote work are key sustainability initiatives pursued by Australian businesses. Additionally, Australian organisations are significantly investing in renewable energy sources compared to the global average.
A major shift to hybrid multicloud IT models is expected in Australia, with the proportion set to increase from 14% to 55% in the next one to three years. Despite progress in ransomware protection, Australian businesses are concerned about security challenges, with 100% acknowledging the need for improvements and 90% viewing ransomware protection as a significant challenge to manage.
Nutanix’s annual survey was conducted by Vanson Bourne and included 1,500 IT and DevOps decision-makers globally.
