RE&S moves core systems to Nutanix to cut IT risk, prepare for AI

Server failures once risked taking down ordering, scheduling and finance systems at the F&B group. A major IT overhaul now cuts hardware by 73% and sets the stage for analytics and AI.

RE&S Enterprises has moved its core business systems to the Nutanix Cloud Platform as it looks to reduce IT risk, streamline infrastructure and position itself for greater use of data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI).

The Singapore-based Japanese food and beverage group operates brands such as Mister Donut, Kuriya Dining and Ichiban Sushi. It migrated applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), finance and production planning. The shift replaces an earlier setup where hardware failures could disrupt multiple systems at once.

“We needed a stable, long-term platform with a clear roadmap and the flexibility to grow without being tied to specific hardware. Before the migration, when a physical server went down, it took the entire application with it. Our ERP, production scheduling, ordering systems and even basic file access would be impacted. The operational risk was simply too high, especially for a business that runs seven days a week,” says Adrian Tan, senior manager of IT at RE&S Enterprises.
