Report: Google to update search, eliminate infinite scroll on search results

Google is making changes to how users view search results on its platform. The infinite scroll feature, which allowed users to continuously scroll through search results, will be replaced by a classic paging bar. This change is being implemented first on desktop search results, with mobile search results to follow in the coming months. The classic paging bar will allow users to jump to a specific page of search results or click “Next” to view the next page. On mobile devices, a “More Results” button will appear at the bottom of the search to load the next page.

Google is making this change to serve search results faster and more efficiently, focusing on loading results that users have explicitly requested instead of automatically loading more results. This update is aimed at improving the overall user experience and making it easier for users to navigate through search results.
