Quantum computing is moving past the hype towards practical integration with high-performance computing and artificial intelligence systems, driving greater integration of quantum HPC.
Throughout history, it has been expected that each wave of technological innovation would render the last obsolete, but that may not be the case this time. Across leading research laboratoriesA new consensus is forming: Quantum, HPC and AI are not rivals vying for dominance, but rather complementary forces that are far more powerful together than any of them could be alone, according to David Vellante (pictured, right).
“This doesn’t seem like a zero-sum game,” Vellante said. “It’s really about bringing together these three powerful technologies, CPU, GPU, and now quantum processors (or QPUs), to solve problems that couldn’t be addressed before.”
Vellante spoke with theCUBE Pablo Gillin (left) as part of an AnalystANGLE segment in the HPE World Quantum Day Eventduring an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE,…
