Public sector workforce planning and the AI ​​revolution

APSC first commissioner Jo Talbot has described the recently unveiled AI plan for the civil service as an important opportunity for authorities to review their workforce strategies to address skills gaps.

Speaking during an online panel on Thursday, Talbot said the federal government’s new plan to encourage the APS to use artificial intelligence to deliver better services faster and for all Australians puts practitioners at the forefront of change.

Talbot said the three cornerstones of the plan are building trust, building people and building tools.
