If I’m being real, we are living in a time where confusion is constant.
Every day it feels like something shifts, economically, socially, professionally, even personally. One moment you think you have clarity, and the next, something changes that makes you question everything you thought you understood. Plans pivot. Expectations collapse. Stability feels uncertain.
And if I’m not careful, I can start reacting to everything I see… instead of discerning what it actually means.
That’s why the Resurrection Sunday message from Dr. Marcus D. Davidson, Senior Pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, “He Got Up: The Power, The Proof, and The Promise of The Resurrection,” grounded me in a way I needed. Because Luke 24:1-12 isn’t just about what happened then, it speaks directly to how we navigate right now.
The women showed up at the tomb ready to carry out what they thought was their assignment. But what they encountered didn’t match their expectations.
The stone was rolled away. The tomb was empty.
Perplexity.
And that’s where many of us are today, standing in front of situations that don’t match what we planned for. Whether it’s in our careers, our communities, our families, or even within ourselves, we’re trying to process outcomes that don’t align with what we anticipated.
But here’s what I’m learning: not everything that looks like a loss is actually a loss.
