In a question-and-answer session with clergy from the diocese of Rome, the pope said priests should “resist the temptation to prepare sermons with artificial intelligence.”
“Like all the muscles in the body, if we don’t use them, if we don’t move them, they die if we don’t move them. The brain needs to be used, so our intelligence also needs to be trained a little so as not to lose this ability,” Leo said in the closed session, according to a Feb. 20 report by Vatican News.
“To give a true sermon is to share the faith,” and artificial intelligence “will never be able to share the faith,” the pope added.
