The PGA Tour has made an effort to bring more live golf coverage to more fans, and now they have found a partner in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help them take full advantage of this initiative.
The partnership, announced on Monday, makes AWS the official cloud provider of the PGA Tour and the trustee of First Tee. More importantly to fans, however, AWS supports Every Shot Live, an over-the-top TV app and platform that allows every golfer’s shot to be shown during certain PGA Tour events.
Every Shot Live was supposed to debut at the Players Championship in 2020, but the start of the pandemic resulted in their cancellation. Fans should be able to follow specific golfers or holes and follow every shot through streaming coverage. While Every Shot Live is not yet scheduled as a weekly feature of PGA Tour’s digital coverage, this partnership appears to be an important step in building the infrastructure to do so more frequently.
