AWS has launched Amazon Q Developer personalized inline code recommendations for developers. It allows users to securely connect Amazon Q Developer to private codebases to generate more accurate suggestions based on internal APIs, libraries, classes, and best practices. In preview, developers can also use Amazon Q Developer chat in the IDE to ask questions about their internal codebase structure and usage of certain functions or libraries. This feature saves developers time by eliminating the need to manually analyze pre-written code or internal documentation.
To utilize this feature, organizations need to link their private repositories to Amazon Q Developer in the AWS Management Console. Admins can choose which repositories to use for personalized recommendations and manage access control for customization. Each customization is kept separate from other customers, and none of them will be used to train Amazon Q Developer core models.
Personalized code recommendations and in-IDE chat are included in the Amazon Q Developer Pro subscription. Pricing information can be found on the Amazon Q Developer Pricing page. For more details about these features, users can visit Amazon Q Developer or read the official announcement blog post.
