Perplexity has moved its AI agents from the cloud to Macs, promising local file and app access and secure automated workflows. Try the Personal Computer experience if you use Pro or Max.
On Thursday, Perplexity announced that Perplexity’s Personal Computer, the company’s answer to OpenClaw and other local AI agents, is now available to all Mac users via a desktop app.
Perplexity’s Personal Computer is an evolution of the universal modular digital worker, the Perplexity Computer. The “Personal Computer” is designed to bring these capabilities to a local device, giving AI agents access to local files, applications and connectors, as well as to web resources for performing personalized multi-step processes.

The main goal is to meet the growing demand for local AI agents popularized by OpenClaw, capable of acting on behalf of the user.
