Perplexity AI Inc. convinced a federal judge to cancel a Texas-based software company’s “perplexity” trademark, ending a year-long lawsuit over the moniker.
There’s no dispute that Perplexity Solved Solutions Inc. fraudulently obtained its trademark registration because the company failed to defend itself after a split with its counsel, according to an order filed Jan. 23 in California federal court granting Perplexity AI default judgment.
