Pentagon Postpones Massive Cloud Computing Contract to December (NASDAQ:AMZN)

The Pentagon said Tuesday it would postpone its long-awaited Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability Contract, or JWCC, by December.

The Pentagon’s Chief Information Officer’s comments were first reported by Reutersand could companies like Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), Google (GOOD) and oracle (ORCL).

These tech giants have long been in contention for the valuable contract, which could be worth up to $10 billion over five years.

The contract was originally expected to be awarded next month.

In April 2021 judge declined Overturning Amazon’s objections to Microsoft winning the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure, or JEDI, contract after Amazon claimed in court filings that former President Donald Trump “screwed” him out of the contract.

In October 2019, the lucrative contract was awarded to Microsoft, just months after it was reported that Trump had asked former Secretary of Defense Mark Esper to put the contract on hold…
