A recent cross-industry promotion between PayPal, Venmo, and the AI search engine Perplexity offers a no-cost entry point for ACA International members to experiment with professional-grade research tools.

PayPal and Venmo recently announced a collaboration with Perplexity, an AI-driven search engine, offering a free one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro — a service typically valued at $200. According to the official terms from Perplexity and PayPal, the offer is scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2025.

As detailed in a Sept. 3, 2024, PayPal news release, the promotion targets U.S. customers who use the payment platforms. While the deal is aimed at a broad consumer market, its application for ARM professionals is significant. Perplexity Pro allows users to conduct deep, cited research across several AI models, including Claude 3 and GPT-4.

For an industry where 57% of agencies already use AI for tasks like account segmentation — according to recent TransUnion data — the ability to source and verify information efficiently is a growing necessity.
