If you ask ChatGPT a personal question soon, the answer could have an ad attached.

OpenAI has confirmed that it is testing ads in its popular chatbot in the US, targeting users with free and low-tier subscriptions.

There are plans to gradually expand the rollout to other countries, but there is no official start date for Australia yet.

That prospect is sparking privacy concerns among digital rights advocates, who warn that AI chatbots offer a more intimate space than traditional social media platforms.
