The defending champion Panasonic Impulse left no doubt about their championship intentions, delivering a commanding 52-6 victory over IBM Big Blue in the XLeague Rice Bowl Tournament quarterfinals.
Offensive explosion
Panasonic‘s offense operated with ruthless efficiency, scoring seven touchdowns and amassing significant yardage both on the ground and through the air. The game was effectively decided by halftime after a stunning second-quarter explosion where Panasonic put up 28 points. Quarterback Yuya Araki was highly efficient, completing 10 of 13 passes for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns before giving way to Kobayashi Hiromitsu, who added another 132 yards and a touchdown through the air.
