TIts own government is seeking a new development and general plan use for vacant land in Oro Valley Town Center, the 114-acre property directly east of Oracle Road near the intersection with Pusch View Lane.
The staff-prepared proposal, which will be reviewed by the Commission and Council in May, calls for three different land uses. They are:
• A total of 88 acres — essentially the rolling hills of desert trees below Pusch Ridge — have been designated as “permanent, protected, open space,” said Michael Spaeth, Oro Valley principal planner. The existing zoning that would allow 77 single-family homes on that property would be eliminated.
