PORTLAND, Oregon (KTVZ) – This week, the Oregon FBI’s Tech Tuesday segment is focused on building a digital defense with photo-sharing sites.
It’s that time of year when we load our cameras with footage of little ones all sitting in pajamas while visions of Santa Claus make them run around like crazy fools.
Of course, you’ll want to share these pictures with friends and family. The goal is to do this safely.
Apple (iOS Photos) and Google (Google Photos) are two of the most common platforms to use, but there are a number of sharing options available including Snapchat, Pinterest, Imgur, Flickr, and more.
Regardless of the platform you are using, here are a few security considerations to keep in mind:
- Only share photos with people you know and trust. For example, suppose anyone can see, save, and share photos you post online.
- Make sure your mother-in-law (and anyone else you send it to) knows if it’s okay to share this photo again ….
