Orange Business and Cisco have joined forces in a new collaborative partnership aimed at accelerating progress towards reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The partnership entails a focus on circular economy best practices, such as product reconditioning and recycling. This collaboration will enable Orange Business to provide its clients with an estimate of the GHG emissions associated with its products and solutions, leveraging Cisco technology.
At the heart of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a commitment to establishing an emissions baseline for GHG emissions originating from Orange Business solutions incorporating Cisco products. This baseline will enable both companies to monitor and reduce GHG emissions within their shared portfolio. Both Orange and Cisco have set ambitious net zero emissions goals, with Orange aiming to reduce its GHG emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2040, while Cisco targets net zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2040.
Recognizing the need for collaborative efforts to accelerate progress towards sustainability goals, this joint action plan represents a significant step in advancing towards a shared vision of achieving net-zero emissions. Both companies aim to create a trajectory for GHG emissions related to Cisco products used by Orange Business, estimate carbon impacts of products and services, emphasize circular economy principles, and explore eco-design principles for future products and solutions.
