Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) is lower on Monday, having lost more than 40% in just two months. But we made Oracle ours Stock of the day because it may have finally found a bottom. There may even be a reversal and a rise.
Supply and demand determine the stock market. When supply exceeds demand, the price falls.
As you can see from the chart below, sellers took control of Oracle in late September. There were not enough demand or buy orders to absorb all the offer or sell orders.
Traders and investors who wanted to sell were forced to offer their shares at a discount to lure buyers into the market. This created a snowball effect that pushed Oracle lower through the end of November.
Sell-offs end or pause when they reach support levels. At these levels, there is enough demand or buying interest to accept and execute all sell orders. Dealers don’t have to undercut everyone…
