Investors have been reminded recently that investing in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure isn’t always easy. oracle (ORCL) The stock fell after mixed financial results and a sharp rise in investment prospects around $50 billion for fiscal year 2026. Shares decreased by 12% according to merit and then another 6% after reports that a key $10 billion financing plan for a new AI data center in Michigan with Blue Owl Capital had stalled, raising new concerns about rising debt and continued cash burn.

This comes even as the global data center market is expected to generate more than $527 billion in revenue in 2025, explaining why the biggest tech companies are moving quickly to secure capacity for AI workloads.
