US-based IT company Oracle is believed to have laid off around 12,000 employees in India. Another round of layoffs is expected within a month, affected employees said Tuesday.
The company has laid off around 30,000 employees worldwide.
“Around 12,000 employees have been laid off in India. The company is planning another mass layoff within a month,” said two people affected by the layoff, including one from the company’s human resources department.
The company employs around 30,000 people in India, including those affected by the layoffs.
Oracle declined to comment on the development.
Oracle said in an email sent to employees that employees have been informed of certain organizational changes and “as a result of these changes, a decision has been made to streamline operations and as a result, the position you currently hold will unfortunately…”
