Oracle is seeking a zoning update for the River North site

Oracle Inc. will require Metro to update its zoning regarding the form and function of its future East Bank campus.

A document submitted to the Metro Planning Department says the Austin-based tech giant is trying to get the Planning Commission to change the River North Urban Design Overlay for various properties Cowan StCowan Court and Waterside Drive. Oracle is seeking a new subdistrict for the 70.84 acres (zoned as an intensive mixed-use zone), but further details are unclear.

The zoning change request comes after Oracle released new images related to the project in October. One of these appears to be about 13 buildings, accessed primarily from Cowan Street. Another image shows the pedestrian bridge that Oracle plans to add to the campus and connect to Germantown.
